PowerDesigners, LLC is a power electronics firm specializing in industrial battery-powered systems. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Nasser Kutkut and Joe Kremer in the shadows of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the company has developed patented battery management technologies that greatly enhance industrial batteries' performance and reliability. The company is the first to offer a complete line of battery management products for the industrial battery market consisting of intelligent and fast battery chargers, advanced battery monitors, and battery equalizers.
Our engineering team has distinct expertise in state of the art battery charging and battery management technologies. Members of the engineering team have worked on some of the leading edge electric vehicle and battery charging engineering projects including the GM Impact/EV1 development program, the HEV future car development projects, and the HEV bus projects nationwide.
PowerDesigners operates out of Madison, WI and is located very close to the University of Wisconsin campus.

PowerDesigners’ products target the industrial battery market, which is comprised of the motive and stationary power markets. The motive power / the industrial electric vehicle (EV) market is a well-established market segment comprising heavy industrial EVs, such as forklift trucks and ground support equipment, and light industrial EVs, such as people movers and golf carts. The stationary / backup power market is also a well-established market segment comprising the uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), telecom power, utility backup power, and solar power systems.
PowerDesigners’ products were specifically developed enhance the performance of industrial batteries in the target market segments by making them more reliability through extending their life, increasing their run time, and improving their reserve capacity. All of that translates into direct cost savings to end-users.
