• What does the PowerTrac DT do?
The PowerTrac DT is an advanced data logging device that tracks battery performance parameters over the battery’s operational cycles. PowerTrac DT will log all major battery activity parameters including voltage, current, temperature, amp-hours of charge and discharge, as well as hours of charge and discharge. In addition, the unit will also track life time performance by accumulating and logging total amp-hours of charge and discharge and total hours of charge and discharge.
• Can I use the PowerTrac DT with any type battery?
Yes! The PowerTrac can go on any type of battery with nominal voltage ranging from 12 to 84 volts. This includes motive, automotive, and stationary batteries used in applications such as forklift trucks, walkies, floor scrubbers, golf carts, go karts, cellular sites, solar systems, telephone central offices, etc… The possibilities are endless.
• What is the difference between an SP and a DT?
The main difference between the SP and the DT unit is the ease of installation as well as the simplified and enhanced DT Palm software. The SP is intended for permanent installations while the DT is intended for temprory installations (trouble shooting and diagnostics). The DT is a Plug-and-play device that requires minimum or no setup.
• How would I install the PowerTrac DT unit?
The PowerTrac DT is a plug an play device and instllation is as simple as plugging the unit in betwen the battery and the charger or the truck. The RED SBE connected should be connected to the battery side while the BLUE one should become the free end that connects to the truck or the charger.
• Will the data be lost when the unit is unplugged?
No. All the data is saved in non-volatile memory for later download.
