The PowerTrac iMD Series is an intelligent Battery Discharge Indicator (BDI) that actually "talks to the battery" to display actual state of charge (SOC). It communicates with the PowerTrac SP+, which would need to be installed on the battery, to display actual battery status including state of charge, voltage, amps, amp-hours used, and temperature. Furthermore, various alarms can be programmed to alert the driver for low SOC, low battery voltage, or low water levels.
Unlike existing truck BDIs, which only rely on battery voltage measurements, the PowerTrac SP+ tracks and logs all battery activity including state of charge (SOC), amp-hour usage, voltages, temperatures, and water level, which are processed to provide more accurate battery data. In addition, the PowerTrac SP+ data is not impacted by the charging regimen employed (conventional, opportunity, or fast). As such, the PowerTrac iMD will always display actual battery state data regardless of the application.
