PowerDesigners is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued to new patents to PowerDesigners.  The first patent (7,135,836) covers the company's modular fast charging technology, while the second patent (7,173,429) covers the company's battery monitoring technology.  "The new patents expand our intellectual property holdings and allows the company to compete more effectively in the motive power battery market place " commented Dr. Nasser Kutkut, Founder and CEO of PowerDesigners.  "Thus far, the company has received 8 patents covering the company's various technologies and products" added Dr. Kutkut.

The modular fast charger patent covers the innovative modular fast charging technology that PowerDesigners offers through its PowerCharge XP Series line of fast chargers.  These chargers feature the first and only modular design that allows for high availability, greater flexibility, and simpler installation and service. The modular design offers greater flexibility and salability to build and expand any fast charger system, redundancy which ensures continued operation with a drawer failure, and above all the lowest downtime and fastest service time.

The battery monitoring patent further expands the company's battery monitoring technology as it discloses a universal monitoring unit that can adapt to existing batteries.  In lieu of installing current measurement devices, the new patent turns existing battery intercell connectors into calibrated shunts, thus reducing installation costs and simplifying unit installation.
